Parade With a Purpose
The Bridge Youth & Family Services leads this initiative, which holds a special place in our hearts—both for its mission to raise awareness about substance abuse and overdose stigma and for the organizers, who are close family friends of the Wills family. Originally hosted in Kettle Valley, this year marked the parade’s debut in downtown Kelowna. Thanks to our generous community, the event raised an incredible $240,000, which was then matched by the Stober Foundation, bringing the total to $480,000 in a single night. The Venture team joined the festivities in full spirit, dancing alongside our float in Gingerbread People costumes, handing out hand warmers and candy canes, all while grooving to Sammy Davis Jr.’s Gingerbread Man.

Lake Country Children’s Festival
Venture Commercial is proud to have been the title sponsor of the Lake Country Children’s Festival for two consecutive years. This vibrant, action-packed event brings families together for a day filled with exciting activities and engaging performances designed for children of all ages. Supporting the foundations of our community
KCR Hub
Venture Commercial proudly volunteered their time at the OK Family Hub, supporting the community by assisting newcomers to Kelowna from various backgrounds. The Hub serves as an essential resource, providing families with necessities like toiletries, personal hygiene items, baby clothes, and formulas. Additionally, it connects individuals with job fairs and recruiters, making it a true “one-stop shop” for support and services. By giving back to this foundation, we’re helping to create a welcoming environment for families starting fresh in our city.

A breathtaking plunge for mental health
Polar Bear Plunge
The Polar Bear Plunge for Mental Health Awareness started as a fun fantasy football bet between Chris and Jason—loser had to jump in the lake. What began as a last-minute idea quickly grew into something bigger. As one participant said, “It’s amazing what you can do on such a short amount of time, when reaching out to friends and family.” With the support of our network, we raised awareness and brought together people from outside our organization who were eager to take the plunge. The goal wasn’t just to raise funds but also to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage open conversations. A huge thank you to the Stober Foundation for matching all the funds raised. This grassroots initiative truly made an impact on both the cause and our community.

Jingle all the way
Annual Salvation Army Kettlebell Ringing
For five consecutive years, Venture Commercial has taken part in the Salvation Army’s Kettle Bell Ringing initiative. Breaking into teams of two, we’ve made this event a fun and creative competition. From props and music to bringing our kids along, it’s amazing what a smile can do. One of our team members shared how much joy it brought when his wife and daughter saw him participating. While we could simply ring the bells, every year we aim to enhance our experience at each location we’re assigned. This initiative reminds us that even the smallest donation can make a big impact on the community—every dollar truly counts.
